Plants & Greenhouse
A Story Rooted in Hard Work and Dedication
Yes! We grow the majority of our plants from seeds and unrooted cuttings right here in our 8 greenhouses covering over 88,000 square feet. Many of our plants, including all our geraniums, are rooted and grown from their very first stage in our climate-controlled environment.
Our plants are grown from the beginning in our greenhouses with daily care and attention. Big box store plants are often shipped long distances and may sit in less-than-ideal conditions. Our plants have stronger root systems, are adapted to local conditions, and haven't experienced shipping stress.
The traditional rule is to wait until after Mother's Day weekend in our area, as this typically marks the end of frost danger. However, some cold-tolerant annuals like pansies and dianthus can go out earlier in spring.
Early spring (end of April through May) and fall (September-October) are ideal times. Spring planting allows establishment before summer heat, while fall planting takes advantage of cooler temperatures and lets plants establish before winter.
We don't offer plant guarantees, but we do provide expert advice on plant selection, care, and troubleshooting to help ensure your success. Our staff is always available to help with any questions.
Absolutely! Our knowledgeable staff can help with plant selection for specific conditions, container design using our "thriller, filler, spiller" method, and advice on garden layout and plant combinations.
Yes! Bring your containers to us and we'll create beautiful custom plantings designed for your specific needs and preferences. We handle everything from plant selection to soil and planting.
Farm Market & Produce
Yes! Our sweet corn and homegrown vegetables are harvested fresh each morning and brought directly to our farm market. What we don't grow ourselves comes from local farms and is selected for peak freshness.
Homegrown items (like our famous sweet corn, tomatoes, onions, cabbage, broccoli, and beets) are grown right here on our 70-acre farm. Locally sourced items come from trusted neighboring farms within our region - ensuring freshness while supporting local agriculture.
Yes! We offer half-bushel quantities of many items including tomatoes, peppers, beets, cucumbers, green beans, apples, and peaches. This is perfect for canning, freezing, or large families. Call ahead to ensure availability.
Each evening, we pack up all produce and store it in climate-controlled coolers. Every morning, we inspect everything and only display items that meet our quality standards. This daily process ensures you're getting the freshest possible produce.
No, we currently do not accept SNAP/EBT benefits. We accept cash, credit cards, and Apple Pay.
